Ban on rallies in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The deputy commissioner has imposed ban on rallies and display of arms in order to maintain peace in the run up to the July 25 elections in the district.

DC Mohammad Zubair imposed section 144 with an immediate effect prohibiting display of weapons in the limits of the district.

“The district police officer had requested for imposing the ban on rallies and processions as it could cause law and order situation in the district during the elections. Heeding the request, the section 144 was imposed,” an order issued by the DC office said.

The deputy commissioner through another order also imposed ban on excavation and collection of sand and gravel from canals and nullahs.

The order said the ban was also imposed under section 144 to protect public property in the district.
