Fata to have efficient governance

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa interim Chief Minister retired Justice Dost Mohammad Khan and the caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Law Syed Ali Zafar on Wednesday agreed to install an efficient governance structure in Fata and ensure provision of quick relief to the tribesmen.

According to a statement issued here the two met at the Chief Minister House.

The caretaker federal minister said the federal government would be recommended for undertaking certain incentives, including expeditious transfer of resources to the province for implementing the overall recovery plan in the conflict-ravaged Fata.

The two also discussed proposed exemption of Fata from federal and provincial taxes and the collective responsibility for infrastructure development in the tribal region.

Justice Dost said the people of tribal areas suffered heavily and the government should provide them quick relief to win them back. He said no vacuum should be left to be exploited by the miscreants in Fata.

The meeting also agreed to the continuation of Riwaj system in the tribal region.
