PEF gets ISO-9001 tag

LAHORE: The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) on Wednesday awarded ISO-9001: 2015 certification on quality management to Punjab Education Foundation (PEF).

PEF Managing Director Tariq Mehmood congratulated the Academic Development Unit (ADU) on the achievement.

He said a comprehensive and detailed audit of the procedures for setting and printing of question papers for Quality Assurance Test (QAT) and compilation of results was conducted.

He said all the procedures related to QAT were found compatible with international standards during the audit and UKAS had awarded the certification.

The MD also presided over a weekly progress review meeting at PEF head office. All the regional heads including Rawalpindi and Multan were present in the meeting.

The MD also discussed the funds release issue and said they would issue the monthly payment [of June] to the schools as soon as they would receive the funds. He appreciated the efforts of partner schools for performing their duties properly.

It merits mentioning that the owners of PEF partner schools and their teachers were protesting over non-payment of monthly fee of their students. They have threatened to close all the schools in the province.

They alleged that the PEF administration had not raised the monthly fee of students for three years due to which it had become difficult for them to meet the needs. They also criticised the monitoring system of the administration.
