No consensus yet on MMA tickets in Battagram

BATTAGRAM: Delay in award of tickets by Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has created uncertainty among workers of the relevant parties in Battagram district.

Though MMA district cabinet tried to build consensus on award of tickets among the aspirants, the matter was later sent to the provincial leadership to decide its candidates.

For NA-12 constituency, three candidates, including former MNA Qari Mohammad Yusuf, Maulana Rasheed Ahmed and Alamzeb Khan, have filed their nomination papers. All of them are in contact with the MMA provincial leadership for getting the ticket, but the decision is still pending.

Similarly, there are three aspirants of MMA ticket for PK-29, including Imdadullah Khan of Jamaat-i-Islami and Maulana Shah Faisal and Mohammad Fayaz Khan of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl.

Of the two aspirants of ticket for PK-28, former MPA Shah Hussain Khan had won the election three times and was being considered a strong candidate for the ticket.

However, JI nominee Mahajareen Khan was also in the race for the ticket.

Talking to this correspondent, local political activists said that the MMA leadership should make a decision on tickets and end the uncertainty among its workers. MMA district chief Maulana Fariduddin said that the tickets would be awarded soon. He asked the workers to get ready for a brisk election campaign.
