48 Lesco feeders exempted from outages

LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company has exempted 48 11kV feeders from loadshedding after considering the areas getting electricity from them as most important and sensitive.

A majority of such feeders are supposed to supply electricity to hospitals. Similarly some seem to be exempted due to nature and importance of activities in various areas. These include GOR, Wapda House, Wapda Colony, Lesco headquarters and high court.

The remaining 43 feeders, according to a report, include Mian Mir Hospital, Mental Hospital, Wasa, DHQ hospital (Sheikhupura), Mian Sharif Trust, Jamsher-1, Parco, IT Centre, Wapda House, GOR, Services Hospital, Wapda Hospital, Cardiac Centre, Supraco, Governor House, Ganga Ram-II, Farooqabad, FM hospital, E-Plot, G/Hospital (Packages), Spinning Mach, Wasa-II, New Airport, PKLI, Sheikh Zayed hospital, Kidney Centre, Data Darbar, Lady Wellington hospital, Said Mitha hospital, Z-hospital, Inmol, Children’s hospital, Mayo, high court, AIM college, Ittefaq hospital, Lesco headquarters, Ganga Ram hospital, Services, Cardiac Centre-II, Fauji foundation, Shaukat Khanam, Ghurki hospital, Airport-1, CMH and Govt Hospital, Shahdra.

“However, we cannot avoid any power disruption at these feeders/areas if happened due to technical fault in grid/distribution system,” he added.

The report mentions the Sheikhupura DHQ hospital feeder on top of the list due to 88.24 per cent of technical and commercial losses, followed by Wapda House feeder that stands at 49.08pc losses.
