Balochistan cabinet consists of businessmen, retired officials

QUETTA: The cabinet of the caretaker government of Balochistan mostly consists of businessmen and retired officials. Here is brief information about them.

Imam Bakhsh Baloch is a retired banker who served the National Bank of Pakistan as a senior vice president. He also worked as the head of the NBP in Balochistan. He has been given the portfolio of finance.

Agha Muhammad Omer Bangulzai belongs to a political family. His father Mir Naseer Ahmed Bangulzai was associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party. However, Omer Bangulzai has remained close to the PML-N.

He is a graduate of the National Defence University and will serve as the minister for law and parliamentary affairs, sports and culture.

Abdul Salam Khan is a retired government officer. He has discharged his duties as secretary of irrigation and chief engineer, besides holding other important posts related to the irrigation department.

Malik Anayatullah Khan Kasi comes from a political family of Quetta. His father Dr Abdul Malik Kasi served as the federal health minister. Mr Kasi is a lawyer by profession and is practising in the Balochistan High Court. He was elected a member of the Quetta Metropolitan Corp­oration. He will work as the minister for home and tribal affairs.

Farzana Ali Baloch is a social worker. She currently works as a female member of the Quetta Metropolitan Corp­oration. She was elected councillor in the local bodies’ election of 2014. She has been given the portfolio of social welfare, population welfare, minorities’ affairs and women development.

Manzoor Hussain Qazilbash is a retired government officer who worked on senior posts in the communions and works department of Balochistan.

He will be the minister for local government.

Hafiz Khalil-ur-Rehman is associated with the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl. He is a close relative of former senator Hafiz Hussain Ahmed of the JUI-F. He will head the ministry of Zakat and religious affairs.

Naveed Ahmed Kalmati belongs to Gwadar. He is holding the office of president of the Gwadar Chamber of Comm­erce and Industry.

Khurram Shahzad belongs to Sibi and by profession he is a businessman. Though he himself is not a politician, his relatives are in active politics. He will serve as the minister for information and technology.

Faizullah Kakar is a close relative of a serving judge of the Balochistan High Court. He has been given the portfolio of health and environment.
