KARACHI: Inspector General of Police A.D. Khowaja on Sunday called for foolproof security on Yaum-i-Ali, which will be observed on the 21st of Ramazan.

The IGP ordered deployment of policemen at Imambargahs, mosques and other sensitive places.

He asked the deputy inspector generals and senior superintendents of police to ensure strict monitoring of processions and rallies in different areas.

A report said 5,572 policemen, with 72 police mobiles, 65 motorcycles, and eight vans would perform duties in their respective areas of Karachi to maintain law and order.
