GAT for PhD

QUALIFYING the Graduate Assessment Test, known as GAT, is one of the requirements for doing PhD from many public and private universities of the country. The test is conducted after each three months. Most candidates of this test are teachers of universities and colleges having great expertise in their respective subjects and also having international research publications to their credit.

But, unfortunately, despite many attempts the majority of the candidates failed to get the minimum required 60 marks (out of 100) in this Multiple Questions (MCQs-type examination. It’s worth mentioning that the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) gives the list of prescribed books for a top-ranking examination such as Central Superior Service (CSS), but the National Testing Service (NTS) does not give the names of the prescribed books for this test, leading to confusion for the candidates.

Secondly, the NTS gives the carbon copy of the answer sheet to the candidates in many tests conducted for admission to medical and engineering universities and soon the key of the test is uploaded on the website so that candidates may tally their attempted answers with the solved key. But no carbon copy of the answer sheet is given to the candidates of GAT subject candidates.

The NTS authorities are requested to kindly upload the list of the prescribed books and give a carbon copy of the answer sheet of the test to the candidates for their convenience.
