KARACHI: A young girl was allegedly raped in Malir City area, police said on Wednesday.

Malir City SHO Arz Mohammed said that an around 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a burger shop owner near Jinnah Square late on Tuesday night.

The officer said the girl had visited the shop to buy a burger when the suspect took her to his nearby house and allegedly subjected her to criminal assault.

The SHO added that the family of the girl started looking for her when she did not return home. They found the girl with the suspect and subjected him to torture.

The suspect was later arrested by the police.

The police sent the girl to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where a lady doctor confirmed that the girl was raped, revealed the officer.
