WSSC begins complaint helpline in Swat

MINGORA: The Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC), Swat, on Tuesday launched a complaint helpline in a bid to provide quick services to locals.

The launching ceremony of the helpline No 1334 was held at Mingora participated by civil society members and elders.

Malakand division commissioner Syed Zaheerul Islam Shah, MPA Fazal Hakim Khan, Swat deputy commissioner Shahid Mehmood Khan, WSSC manager operations Mian Shahid Ali and others were also present.

Seven vehicles to lift garbage from Mingora town were also handed over to WSSC.

On the occasion, WSSC chief executive officer Shida Mohammad Khan said the firm, in a short time, had improved provision of water supply and cleanliness in the town.

“With the introduction of the helpline the public will now be able to lodge complaints about water supply and sewerage issues which will be solved in 24 to 48 hours. After solving the issue the complainant will also be informed,” he said, adding WSSC had lifted 12,900 tons of garbage from Mingora in a short time while rusty pipelines from 7,000 sites were replaced.
