NAB chief says does not believe in victimisation

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau Chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal says he does not believe in victimisation.

Speaking at a cheque distribution ceremony among the affected persons of the Model Housing Enclave at the bureau’s Lahore office on Friday, he said the NAB carried out inquiry on allegations in accordance with law. “If allegations are not proved investigation is closed,” he said and added the bureau ensured transparency, merit and rule of law.

Appreciating the performance of the Lahore bureau, Mr Iqbal said NAB had compensated a large number of victims of housing sector in the city with Rs18bn so far. He said the regulator should take notice of any housing project prior to its launch so that it could not defraud people.
