Govt warns of ‘fake’ organisations using armed forces name

RAWALPINDI: The federal government has warned that different ‘fake’ organisations are operating in Punjab and Sindh, using the name of federal government and armed forces, sources said on Monday.

Through a letter, it directed provincial, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan governments and the chief commissioner Islamabad to keep an eye on their activities and take legal action against them.

According to sources, the federal government further said that all these organisations claimed to be working for Pakistan Army and a premier intelligence agency and also using photographs of senior army officers on their billboards, pamphlets, visiting cards and business cards.

The federal government directed the provincial authorities to immediately take legal action against the organisations.

The federal government also dispatched documentary proofs including letter pads of all these organisations, their pamphlets, visiting cards and business cards to the governments inscribed with names of army officers and their photographs.

The sources said that all of the authorities concerned, law enforcement and intelligence agencies had been directed to check the activities of these fake organisations and take immediate action against them.
