JIT report sought in Dr Asim’s case

KARACHI: An antiterrorism court on Thursday directed the provincial home department to submit the original Joint Investigation Team’s (JIT) report in a case against former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain and six other politicians.

The direction came on an application filed by the Rangers asking the court to seek the report of the JIT from the home department and make it part of the proceedings in a case. On Thursday, the ATC-II judge directed the special public prosecutor to submit the original JIT report till May 15.

Meanwhile, the court deferred arguments on an application filed by former MQM leader Saleem Shahzad seeking acquittal in the case.
