KARACHI, May 20: The delimitation of new districts of Badin, Hyderabad and Matiari and talukas Jhuddo and Manjhand were finalized at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim here on Friday. In the meeting, delimitation of District Tando Allahyar was also considered and given approval after minor adjustments.

The chief minister directed senior member of revenue board to issue necessary notifications regarding delimitation of these districts and talukas and submit a summary to him at the earliest for demarcation of boundaries of District Tando Allahyar.

He made it clear that no delay or impediment in the establishment of new districts at any stage would be tolerated.

He pointed out that the creation of new districts would help raise the living standard of people. He reiterated that maximum facilities to people was government’s top priorities and said all decisions were taken keeping this in view.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Senior Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, Provincial Minister Ali Bukhsh Shah alias Pappoo Shah, Chief Secretary Fazlur Rehman, BOR’s Senior Member Syed Anwar Hyder, DCO Badin, EDO Revenue Badin, former minister Mohammed Ismail Rahu and others.

Earlier, the political and social life of District Tharparkar was considered in detail at a meeting of notables of the district held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Arbab Rahim here on Thursday night.

According to official sources, the strategy for the forthcoming local government elections came under discussion at the meeting and it was decided that PML candidates would contest the elections from all the constituencies with vigorous participation.

The chief minister, who is also the president of PML Sindh, stressed that people should be contacted at the grassroots level.

Pir Taj Hussain Shah, Pir Noor Mohammed Shah, Haji Siraj Soomro, Khalid Soomro, Khair Mohammed Bhurgari, Zahid Hussain Bhurgari, and Mir Amanullah Talpur attended the meeting. —APP
