Export of services down

ISLAMABAD: The export of services dropped by nearly 44 per cent year-on-year to reach $407.02 million in February, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported on Tuesday.

The export of services has been witnessing this downward trajectory for the past few months.

Between July-February 2017-18, export of services fell to $3.43bn from $3.57bn over the corresponding period of last year. In FY18, Pakistan’s exports of services recorded a growth of 1.76pc year-on-year to $5.55bn.

The imports, on the other hand, posted a growth of 10pc to $6.97bn in July-February of 2018 from $6.33bn over the corresponding period of 2016-17. On a monthly basis, the imports of services went up 6pc to $838.81m.
