QUETTA: The Balochis­tan Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution, condemning the bom­bing of a seminary in the Afghan province of Kunduz that claimed the lives of a large number of children.

Shahida Rauf of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, who moved the resolution, condemned the bombing of the seminary by US helicopters.

Terming it an open attack on Islam, she asked human rights organisations and the international community to take notice of the barbarian act of the US and Afghan forces.

Provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti alleged that the Afghan government was involved in this uncivilised act because its forces had bombed the seminary. He said the international community should take notice of the attack which claimed the lives of a large number of children.

He informed the house that all terrorists involved in the Aug 8, 2016 suicide attack on the Quetta’s Civil Hospital had been killed. A gang that targeted police and security personnel had also been busted, he said.

Terming the war against terrorism difficult, he called for adopting a comprehensive security policy in this regard. He claimed that terrorist training camps were established in Spin Buldak and enemies of Pakistan were using Afghan soil for carrying out terrorist attacks in Quetta.

Provincial minister Prince Ahmed Ali termed the bombing at the seminary in Kunduz a barbarian act and said it was an attempt to silence the voice of Muslims.

Speaker Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Engineer Zamarak Khan Piralizai, Syed Agha Raza, Nawab Muhammad Khan Shah­wani, Mir Asim Kurd, Syed Liaquat Agha, Molvi Maz­ullah, Mufti Gulab and Dr Hamid Khan Achakzai also spoke on the resolution.
