There was no issue of the newspaper on March 24, 1968 on account of Pakistan Day. The following extract is from the previous day’s issue.

KARACHI: The glory and splendour of folk crafts of Baluchistan and Sind have come to life in an exhibition inaugurated yesterday [March 22] at the Pakistan American Cultural Centre.

Ranging from embroidery to straw work, the exhibits display the variety and excellence of the craft of anonymous artisans of Baluchistan and Sind.

The exhibition, arranged by Mrs Neyyar Hassan and Mrs Manuela E. Fuiler, makes a fuller representation of the rich folk crafts of the areas than attempted before. Some of the material from Baluchistan specially has the freshness of discovery. Inaugurating the exhibition, Dr N.A. Baluch, a known Sindhi scholar, provided an informative commentary on a number of exhibits from Sind, recalling the forgotten attainments and renown of Sindhi textiles in the times before Christ.

Standing out against the fawn-coloured jute background, the violent-red embroidered costumes capture the common spectacle of Baluchi and Sindhi women against the sandy terrain of their Homeland.
