KARACHI: Mayor Wasim Akhtar on Tuesday said that a three-day medical emergency will be observed in seven city hospitals from March 24-26 so that any untoward situation could be effectively handled during the PSL final being played at the National Stadium.

He said that over 50 senior doctors, 200 nurses and 500 paramedics would remain vigilant round the clock at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s seven hospitals — Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases, Landhi Medical Complex, Sarfaraz Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital, Gazdarabad General Hospital, Sobhraj Maternity Home, and Spencer Eye Hospital.

He said that all the roads leading to the National Stadium will be illuminated during the three days and would be decorated with picture cutouts of local as well as foreign cricket players so that the players are aware of the sentiments of cricket lovers in the city.

He said that ambulance service of Rescue 1122 along with their staffers would also be deputed at the stadium, says a statement.
