Imran vs Nehru

SIX decades earlier the governor of the Indian state of Punjab wrote a letter to the then Indian prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, that his sister had not paid the bill of the official rest-house for the time she stayed there. Instead of being angry, the Indian leader instantly paid the due amount.

Mr Khan has to pay about Rs11.1 million to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for using a government helicopter, Mi-171, and an Ecureuil helicopter, for the PTI’s political activities, but he is delaying the matter.

Mr Khan should consider a wake-up call, the loss of their candidate in the NA-154 by-election in Lodharan. As charity begins at home, Mr Khan needs to sustain his goodwill image, as he is used to criticising politics of heritage and VIP protocol.

Paying the amount to the provincial government will create a good impact for Mr Khan in the upcoming general elections. Otherwise the National Accountability Bureau is about to take action.
