‘PML-N to face consequences of confrontation with state institutions’

TAXILA: Former Punjab governor and member of the PTI Core Committee Senator Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Monday said the PML-N would alone face the consequences of its confrontation with state institutions.

Talking to newsmen in Attock, he said the PML-N talked about democracy but attacked national institutions which reflected its mentality and the agenda against democracy.

He said the rulers had been involved in mudslinging against the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after these institutions opened corruption cases against the PML-N leaders.

“The nation will not let the rulers escape justice. Now everyone has to present himself for accountability and face jail terms for corruption.”

In reply to questions, he said the PTI supported the Senate chairman’s candidate from Balochistan in the best interest of the country.

He said there were no chances of an alliance between the PTI and the PPP for the next general elections.

He said the PTI’s parliamentary board would award tickets for the forthcoming elections to those candidates who had their roots in the people.

“In the general elections 2018, the PTI will surprise PML-N by winning it. The PTI will make its government in Punjab as well as in the centre,” he claimed. He said his victory in the Senate elections was the success of the PTI and democracy.

Earlier, Chaudhry Sarwar witnessed different events at the ongoing spring festival in Attock, which included tent pegging, bull race and clay pigeon shooting.

He appreciated the efforts of former district nazim Tahir Sadiq and District Council Chairperson Eman Tahir for arranging the festival to provide entertainment facilities to the citizens.
