NOT showing up for discussion an the Restriction Employment Bill on Thursday proves the carelessness of the committee members. Twenty-five out of 27 members refused to show up, which showed how serious they are about resolving social issues of the country.

Child labour is a serious issue that needs immediate attention. Every day, countless children are either forced to earn or the child himself falls victim to this unfair practice. Though many bills have been passed to reduce child labour like the Punjab Compulsory Education Act, 1994, and others, none has been implemented.
