ANP leader fears Senate to remain unstable

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that every institution should work under in its constitutional limits for stability of the country.

He was addressing a gathering in Nowshera where workers had gathered to finalise arrangements for the upcoming rally of ANP president Asfandyar Wali Khan, said a press release issued here on Monday.

Mr Hussain congratulated the newly-elected Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani but went on to warn that situation that resulted after the Senate elections would keep the upper house unstable.

He said that finally Senate elections were held but expressed his regrets that those, who boycotted PPP and PML-N, used chief minister of Balochistan for backdoor contact with Asif Ali Zardari.

The ANP leader said that first Zardari played a vital role to dissolve Balochistan Assembly before completion of its tenure but the move failed. The same attempts could have been made against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh assemblies but the first attempt failed due to political wisdom of Nawaz Sharif, he added.

Mr Hussain criticised PPP for sacrificing Raza Rabbani for the Senate number game. Every attempt was made to stop Senate elections. He said that he could foresee that the upper house would remain unstable.

He said that state institutions should work within their constitutional ambit. He added that clash between state institutions could not be good for the country.
