‘Youth to play decisive role in next polls’

TAXILA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Punjab Mian Maqsood Ahmad on Monday said the youth would play a decisive role in the next general elections.

He was addressing JI North Punjab social media convention at Wah Cantt.

He urged youth to speed up their efforts aimed at bringing a peaceful Islamic revolution in the country.

The JI leader said his party was committed to bringing youth from village council level to national politics.

He said the youth would prove to be the strength of JI and Pakistan in future.

Mr Ahmed asked the youth to pledge to bring the real and genuine people to the corridors of power in the coming general elections.

He said the media should expose all those black sheep who plundered national wealth, adding a number of JI members were also voted to power during the last 60 to 65 years but they never indulged in any kind of corruption.

“Over 1,000 JI leaders were elected to national and provincial assemblies since the creation of Pakistan but not a single case of corruption was registered against any of them since we always worked for the welfare of the people and won their hearts,” he added.
