Motorbike rally honours lady wardens

LAHORE: The city traffic police organised a motorbike rally of lady wardens on the International Women’s Day on Thursday.

Twenty lady wardens took part in the rally on heavy bikes from Jail Road to Eden Centre, says a press release.

Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz said the role of lady police officials was being enhanced in the traffic management and other sections of the department by giving them maximum representation. He said a number of projects were being launched to enable the lady traffic wardens to play a decisive role.

The CTO said the purpose of holding this activity was to boost the morale and confidence of the officers and sensitise the public about the fact that society can’t progress without women’s participation.
