BERLIN: Robert Lewandowski and Jupp Heyn­ckes both missed out on records as runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich ‘s 14-game winning run across all competitions ended after a frustrating goalless draw at home with Hertha Berlin on Saturday.

Bayern, who failed to score in a league game at home for the first time since May 2015, went 20 points clear at the top with 60 from 24 matches, but second-placed Borussia Dortmund can cut that advantage to 17 if they beat Augsburg at home on Monday.

“Everyone did their job. When you leave here with a point, then it’s outstanding,” said Hertha forward Davie Selke, whose side remained in mid-table.

Heynckes already matched Pal Csernai’s record of 14 straight wins set in 1980, and Lewandowski was hoping to join Bayern great Gerd Mueller and Heynckes as the only players to have scored in 12 consecutive home games.

“I would have granted Lewy that,” joked Heyn­ckes, who achieved the feat as a Borussia Moen­chengladbach player in 1972-73.

Third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt lost 1-0 at VfB Stuttgart with Erik Thommy scoring the only goal in the 13th minute, leaving them on 39 points.

Borussia Moenchengladbach won 1-0 at Hanover 96 to climb to seventh on 34 points, while Hoffenheim drew 1-1 at home to Freiburg.

Werder Bremen boosted their survival hopes as a dramatic own goal sealed their 1-0 home win against arch rivals Hamburg SV.

Bremen had the better chances and when Aron Johannsson’s shot was blocked, it rolled over the goalline in the 86th minute with a nudge from Hamburg’s Dutch defender Rick van Drongelen under pressure from Bremen’s Ishak Belfodil.

The result leaves Bremen 14th, two points from the relegation spots, and leaves second from bottom Hamburg deep in the relegation mire, seven points behind Mainz 05 who occupy the playoff berth.
