Two killed in separate incidents

RAWALPINDI: A young man was shot and killed in Waris Khan while another man was killed after he was hit by a train in the Chamanzar Colony in Friday.

Chah Sultan resident Mohammad Adnan was gravely injured after he was shot in mysterious circumstances, in his home after midnight. He was pronounced dead at the District Headquarters Hospital.

Police said it has yet to be established whether he had killed himself or been shot by someone else.

Separately, 22-year-old Zaheer Masih was killed after he was hit by a train in the Chamanzar Colony. Rescue services quoted bystanders as saying he had been walking along the track wearing headphones when he was hit by a train coming from the railway station side.The body was taken to the DHQ Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Murder suspect brought to Rawalpindi

A murder suspect was brought to Rawalpindi from Saudi Arabia by Interpol, police said on Friday.

Mohammad Sabir was Saudi Arabia was had been arrested by the police for allegedly killing another Pakistani in 1994. Since he was from Kahuta in Rawalpindi, the police asked the Federal Investigation Agency’s Interpol to bring him to Pakistan for his trial.

Station House Officer Basharat Abbasi said the suspect was brought to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia and a police team had been sent to Lahore to bring him to Rawalpindi.

He said the wife of the victim had filed an application with the police seeking security, due to the shifting of her husband’s alleged killer.
