Wall collapse kills three brothers in Swabi

SWABI: Three young brothers were killed and another one got critical injuries when the boundary wall of their neighbour’s house collapsed on them when they were busy in digging work.

The incident occurred at Bamkhel village situated on the edge of Swabi-Topi road about 15km from the district headquarters, in the jurisdiction of city police station. It was learnt that in Narikanda area of Bamkhel, four brothers Inam Khan, Ikram Khan, Hakeem Khan and Ihthisham Khan, sons of Fazal Mullah, were busy in digging foundation for construction of their house when the wall of the nearby house collapsed on them.

All the four ill-fated brothers were buried alive under the debris. The local people rushed to the site and started rescue work. Police also participated in the rescue efforts. Three bodies and one injured were retrieved from under the rubble.

The injured Ihthesham was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor, where the doctors referred him to Peshawar in a precarious condition.

Local political activists and officials of the district administration visited the village to express their sympathies with the bereaved family.
