Thar’s Arbab group leader defects to PPP

MITHI: Nagarparkar town committee chairman Sardar Khan Khoso, main leader of anti-PPP Arbab Ghulam Rahim-led Arbab group, defected to Pakistan Peoples Party and would make formal announcement of joining the party at today’s public meeting of PPP in Nagarparkar town.

Mr Khoso, the second leader of Arbab group after Arbab Lutfullah, nephew of former chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim who joined PPP last year, told journalists on Wednesday that he had decided to join PPP after consulting his supporters and voters. He would now be in a better position to serve people, he said.

Mr Khoso would announce his fidelity to PPP leadership in the presence of MNA Faryal Talpur, provincial minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and others.

Political analysts term Mr Khoso’s defection another major setback to the Arbab group and claim that it and awarding of a Senate ticket to Kirshna Lal Kolhi will render PPP almost undefeatable in PS-62 (Nagarparkar) during upcoming general election.

Meanwhile, Thar deputy commissioner Dr Abdul Hafeez Siyal and SSP Ameer Saud Magsi reached Nagarparkar to review security arrangements for the public meeting.
