Razzaq leaves today

LAHORE, May 12: Test all-rounder Abdul Razzaq will leave for St John’s (Antigua) on Friday afternoon to join the Pakistan team there. The team had left for the West Indies early on Wednesday but Razzaq could not go because he was tending to his mother-in-law who had to undergo surgery.

Pakistan will play three One-day and two Test matches during the tour.

Razzaq, meanwhile, said it was the best time for Pakistan to win their first series in the West Indies.

“After the Indian tour the morale of the players is high and they are eager to create history in Pakistan cricket by winning a Test series in West Indies,” he said.

He admitted that the West Indies had a good batting line-up but added Pakistan had the bowling attack which could bowl them out twice in the match.

However, he said defeating West Indies on their own backyard was not an easy task and that Pakistan had to perform in all departments of the game to come back with laurels.
