Three commit suicide in Pindi, Hassanabdal

RAWALPINDI: A man, who married for love, hanged himself to death after his wife left him and went to her parents’ house in the Saddar Bairooni area on Sunday, police said.

Azhar Mehmood, who was in his 30s and father of four daughters, was found hanged from a ceiling in his house after his neighbours got suspicious on seeing his motorcycle parked outside and when no one responded from inside the house when they called.

Azhar, who was a plumber and had married 12 years ago, was in distress since his wife left the house after both quarreled on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in the Hassar village of Hassanabdal.

Police said the woman exchanged harsh words with her family over a marriage issue and later took her life.

A 22-year-old man also committed suicide by hanging himself over a domestic dispute in the Sultanpur village of Hassanabdal.
