‘People fed up with social media politics of PTI’

SHANGLA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial president Engr Amir Muqam has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people will reject what he said the social media politics of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in the coming general elections.

He was addressing a public meeting at Martung here on Saturday.

Mr Muqam claimed that he had worked tirelessly for development of Shangla, saying Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people, by turning up in large numbers at PML-N public meetings, had showed that they had become fed up with the PTI-led government.

“It’s my mission to develop the entire province if I get a chance in next elections to serve the people,” the adviser to the PM promised.

He said he had personally visited the areas affected by disasters in Shangla to ensure the needy people got timely help. He said the PTI provincial government had frustrated the people of Shangla, particularly after the 2015 earthquake.

He said a power supply project to electrify every household in the district was underway which would be complete before the next general elections, while work on several link roads was also continuing.

Mr Muqam alleged that the PTI government had sent recommendations to the federal government to impose taxes in Malakand division which, he said, he had strongly opposed.

He claimed that the PML-N would form next governments both in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the centre.

Mr Muqam urged the party workers to start preparations for the general elections.

ROAD ACCIDENT: Eleven persons, children among them, were injured when a van fell into a ravine near Puran Aloch on Saturday.

According to police, the vehicle was taking PML-N workers to a public meeting in Martung tehsil when it skidded off the road near Aloch and fell into a deep ravine. As a result, 11 people, including children, were injured.

Police said locals shifted the injured to tehsil headquarters hospital, Puran, wherefrom they were referred to Saidu Teaching Hospital in Swat.
