Organic fertilser

WHILE the world has developed several techniques to develop and use organic fertilisers, Pakistan is still lagging behind in this field.

There is hardly any awareness about this in the country.

Farmers can easily convert raw livestock waste and organic matter into organic fertilisers for use if they are equipped with electrochemical machinery.

This will also result in the reduction of use of inorganic fertilisers, which are far less advantageous compared to organic fertilisers.

Organic fertilisers are vital for soil structure, hydraulic conductivity, field capacity, and non-toxic food.

We need organic fertilisers because inorganic fertilisers cause soil erosion and degradation of soil structure.

Bio-fertilisers, which cost of Rs360 only per hectare, have considerably increased the growth of rice. They have also increased the paddy yield per hectare to a large extent.

If we put things into a statistical perspective, then is this by far the cheapest method and can actually boost our agricultural economy.

It is time we started using organic fertilisers.
