Mobin reappointed Narda chief

ISLAMABAD: Usman Yousaf Mobin was re-appointed as chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for another three-year term.

“The federal government is pleased to appoint Usman Yousaf Mobin as the chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on existing terms and conditions, for three years in terms of Section 3 of the Nadra Ordinance, 2000, with immediate effect and until further orders,” a notification issued by the Establishment Division on Thursday said.

Mr Mobin was made the Nadra chief for three years in 2015 and, prior to the expiry of his tenure on Feb 5, the post was advertised on Dec 23, 2017, following which over 180 applications for the post were received.

Informed sources told Dawn that earlier, Mr Mobin had been offered a one-year extension, which he declined to accept.
