Quran’s Hindko translation launched

MANSEHRA: The Hindko translation of the Holy Quran was launched here on Monday.

Federal minister for religious affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf, who was the chief guest on the launching ceremony here, said the translation would help the Hindko-speaking people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country understand the Holy Quran in mother tongue.

He said the initiative taken by the late Abdul Ghafoor Malik would spread the message of the Holy Quran to a large community in a very effective manner.

The minister said Islam was a religion of peace, tolerance and brotherhood but a handful of people were misguiding Muslims to achieve evil designs.

“Now, the Hindko-speaking people can comprehend this message of peace very well with the help of this translation to act accordingly,” he said.

The minister praised the late Abdul Ghafoor Malik for translating the Holy Quran into Hindko.

Earlier in the day, he visited the house of Pakistan Army soldier Adil Shafique, who was martyred in the Indian shelling in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

He sympathised with the family and offered Fateha for the martyred solider.

The minister said the United Nations should take notice of the frequent Indian aggression and border violation and ensure their immediate end.
