Chances for general election 50-50, says Wassan

KHAIRPUR: Sindh Minister for Industries Manzoor Hussain Wassan, who has a penchant for sharing his dreams with media, sees Senate polls to be held on time but cautions chances for general election are fifty-fifty.

He told journalists here on Monday that 2018 would prove to be a year of surprises as it would see a coalition government to be cobbled together in Centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and PPP victory in Sindh and Balochistan. He said that several alliances had been formed against PPP in past by Jam Sadiq, nationalists and others but they all met the same fate of fading into oblivion after resounding defeat in election.

He said that those who had formed the Grand Democratic Alliance were already in disarray. Some were hurrying to join PTI, some were looking to PPP while others were going to Pervez Musharraf’s camp, he said.

Mr Wassan said in answer to a question that PPP condemned all incidents of cruelty and injustice, be it assault on Asma, Zainab and any other girl in the country or alleged killing of innocent youth in Karachi.
