BANNU: A militant was killed, while an army captain and two soldiers were injured in an encounter during a search operation against outlaws in Janikhel area here on Wednesday.

According to sources, security forces were conducting a search operation in Zandi Alikhel, Janikhel when unknown militants opened fire on them. As a result, a captain and two soldiers were injured.

The security forces returned the fire in which a militant was killed. The security forces cordoned off the area after the mishap and started a search operation. However, no arrest was made till filing of this report on Wednesday evening.
