Eight schoolchildren injured on road

TAXILA: Nine people, including eight schoolchildren, were injured when a school van hit a roadside tree near Mianwala in the limits of Pindigheab police on Saturday.

Police and Rescue 1122 sources said the students were returning home from their school when the driver lost control over the vehicle due to speeding.

As a result, students Sajid Ali, Usman Ajmal, Imran Riasat, Mohammad Razzaq, Mohammad Zohaib, Shahzaib, Mohammad Sarwar, Attiqur Rehman and driver Mohammad Sher Khan were injured.

They were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital from where three of the injured were referred to Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.
