Quaid’s vision

DEC 25 is celebrated across Pakistan with great zeal our Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday. Institutes and organisations pay tribute to the Quaid, and newspapers and social media are full of tributes to the Quaid.

But is it enough? Dec 25 passes and we get back to our daily routines, forgetting all those motivational speeches and programmes that taught us about the vision of our Quaid. The issue is the gap between theory and practice. The theory here is the vision, while practice is lost because we get back to our daily routines forgetting our Quaid.

Instead of so many programmes on one day, there should be a daily reminder, which could keep burning our desire for a better Pakistan.

WE every year celebrate the birthday of the founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah with ceremonies. But the Quaid’s vision is not promoted in the real sense.

During his last speech in the constituent assembly on Aug 11, 1947, he said that the law and order should be given the highest priority, and citizens’ life, property and religious beliefs should be protected.

He considered bribery, black-marketing and nepotism as evils, for they stop development of modern society. Our representatives quote his speech but do not follow what he said.

It is our duty as patriotic Pakistanis to eradicate bribery, black-marketing and nepotism from our society to achieve objectives of the Quaid instead of just celebrating his birthday.
