Ban on aerial firing, one-wheeling, car racing on New Year's eve in Sindh

The Sindh government on Friday decided to impose a ban on aerial firing, one-wheeling and car racing on New Year's eve to prevent any untoward loss of life.

The provincial Home Department promptly issued a notification to this effect under Section 144 (6) of CrPC.

“The Government of Sindh, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 (6) of Criminal Procedures Code, do hereby impose a complete ban on aerial firing, one wheeling/racing of motorcycles with or without silencer and car racing throughout the province of Sindh on the eve of New year Night, December 31, 2017," read the notification.

The ban has been imposed in order to safeguard the lives of citizens and to prevent any untoward situation, reads the notification.

As per the order, the "citizens and juveniles of the province celebrate New Year Night with swing and enthusiasm and usually resort to aerial firing and ride motorcycles on one wheel and without silencer and drive four-wheel vehicles at high speed resulting in causalities and fatal accidents."
