PSP relocates party office, to hold rally on 24th

KARACHI: In what appears to be an attempt to stage a counter show of strength at the same venue where its rival Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) organised an event on Nov 5, the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) has announced that it will hold a public meeting on Liaquatabad flyover on Dec 24.

In a bid to mobilise the masses, the PSP also moved its headquarters from the more upmarket PECHS locality to the lower middle-class neighbourhood of Liaquatabad’s Al Karam Square, where the Altaf Hussain-led Mohajir Qaumi Movement had its central offices till June 1992.

Speaking at a press conference at the newly-established office on Friday, PSP secretary general Raza Haroon said that in the past many political movements had begun from Al Karam Square and this time “a practical struggle for the rights of Karachi will begin from here”.

He said PSP chairman Mustafa Kamal was the only leader who was struggling for the rights of the people.

“The PSP will hold a massive public meeting on Liaquatabad flyover on Dec 24,” he said, asking the people of Karachi to support the PSP and attend the event in maximum numbers for getting their rights.
