Zardari intervenes to end rift in Nowshera PPP
NOWSHERA: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has finally intervened to end rift in Nowshera chapter of the party. PPP divisional president Liaquat Shabab withdrew his resignation after intervention of the party top leadership.
Sources said that a meeting presided over by Asif Ali Zardari was held in Islamabad that was attended by PPP provincial president Hamyoun Khan, general secretary Faisal Kareem Kundi, Peshawar division president Liaquat Shabab, political secretary Rukhsana Bangash, former provincial president Sardar Ali Khan and others.
It may be mentioned here that Liaquat Shabab had resigned from his post as division president of the party when PPP provincial president Hamayoun Khan and Behramand Khan accompanied PML-N leader Pir Zulfiaqar Bacha of Akora Khattak, who was brought into the party folds without the consultation of the district and divisional organisations.
Sources said that PPP district president Mian Yahya Shah Kakakhel also resigned from his post when Asif Ali Zardari visited Ziarat Kaka Sahib to meet Mian Feroz Jamal Shah and Manki Sharif to meet Pir Nabi Ameen few months ago.
Sources said that party was passing through critical times as senior workers were saying goodbye to it. They said that PPP faced more crises when Liaquat Shabab resigned from his post.
They said that Mr Zardari realised the situation and looked into the grievances of Mr Shabab. They said that Mr Zardari assured PPP office-bearers in the district and division to take them into confidence before joining of the party by any leader of another political party.
Meanwhile, the participants of a Multi-Party Conference decided here on Wednesday to block GT Road at Shobera Chowk on Friday against the declaration of Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
