PCP employees protest non-payment of salaries

ISLAMABAD: Union leaders and employees of the Printing Corporation of Pakistan (PCP) on Tuesday launched a protest movement against what they termed apathy of the PCP management and government, urging them to pay their salaries on time.

All the organisation’s employees — from low-income workers to high officials — have not been paid their salaries for the months of October and November.

PCP Managing Director Muhammad Abid Javed admitted that salaries had not been paid due to non-availability of funds, adding that he himself had not received his salary.

He said a summary was sent to the prime minister for provision of funds so that salaries could be paid to the employees.
