Shangla police claim solving blind murder case

SHANGLA: Shangla police claimed on Monday to have solved a blind murder case by arresting a man and his wife six days after the incident.

According to a statement issued by DPO Rahatullah Khan, the victim, Ali Rehman, was shot dead in the Alpuri police station limits six days ago and his body was found the other day.

Fasihul Lesan, an uncle of slain, told police that his nephew was a daily wager in Lelonai where he went in the morning and returned at dusk.

However, he said on the day of the occurrence he did not return home. He said the body of Rehman was recovered a day after his murder.

DSP Amjad Ali led the investigation and arrested two accused Usman Ghani and his wife.

The police statement said during interrogation the man confessed to the crime and told the police the victim was killed on suspicion of having illicit relations with his wife.

The police also recovered the weapon used in the murder.
