Dr Qadeer declared distinguished alumnus of three world varsities

ISLAMABAD: Nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has been declared distinguished alumnus of three international universities.

“The university of Leuven, Belgium; Technical University of Berlin, Germany; and the Technological University of Delft, Holland, have declared me as their distinguished alumnus,” Dr Khan told Dawn on Wednesday.

Dr Khan, who has been under house detention for the past 13 years for his alleged role in international nuclear proliferation, said he had recently been declared distinguished alumnus but was informed about it a couple of days ago.

“My name is available on the websites of the three universities as distinguished alumnus,” he added. He said he had studied at the three universities before he became nuclear scientist and returned to Pakistan in mid-1970.
