Faizabad sit-in

THE Federal Capital has been under siege by religious zealots for 20 days now and the stand-off continues with no end in sight.

The five million plus citizens of the twin cities have been facing difficulties owing to the sit-in at Faizabad which connects Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The state has failed to end the impasse which has made the lives of the people miserable.

I am a college student and use the Faizabad route to get to my institutuion which normally takes 20 minutes. Owing to this sit-in, it now takes me more than an hour via alternative routes and that too in traffic that is best described as chaotic.

The authorities must act to restore the law and order.
