Wonder Craft: Car track wall art

Kids and toys go a long way, you may have a lot of different toys in your toy chest or may be lying here and there in your room. Today’s craft is about decorating a wall of your room or any corner of your house that your mum gives you the freedom decorate by making the first letter of your name with road tracks and vehicles sticking on it.

The good thing is you will be using some of your toy vehicles like cars, tractors, dumper, bikes or anything else you like. It is not necessary to make the letter-shaped track, you can simply make square, or oval-shaped tracks.

Things you need:

  1. Cardboard/hardpaper (size of your choice)

  2. Various kinds of toy vehicles; the smaller, the better.

  3. Hot glue

  4. Pencil

  5. Scissors

  6. Yellow and white paints

  7. Paint brush

Directions:

  1. You can decide the size of the letter you want to make, I used 20-inch long and 10-inch wide hardboard.

  2. Draw the letter and cut it out, as in pictures 2 and 3.

  3. Draw a line in the centre of the letter, this will be the indicator of the tracks going parallel, picture 4.

  4. You have to decide where you want to make the zebra crossing on the tracks before painting a yellow straight line.

  5. Paint yellow (on the already drawn pencil line), and then paint broken lines with it as you see on the roads, as in pictures 5 and 6.

  6. You can change the road lines such as only broken lines in the middle, or only one straight line in the middle, (because they vary according to the road size, road location, area), see picture 7.

  7. I chose the zebra crossing to be in the middle of the letter so I drew it after making the main tracks, picture 8.

  8. For this craft, you need hot glue, make sure you use it carefully or take the help of an adult. Dab hot glue on the vehicles and carefully place them on the tracks, pictures 9 and 10.

Your car track wall art is ready.
