Restaurateur shot dead in Gulshan

KARACHI: A restaurant owner was shot dead over some personal enmity on Abul Hasan Ispahani Road in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on early Thursday morning.

Sachal SHO Shakir Ali said Shamsullah, 35, was attacked by armed motorcyclists when he was sitting at his restaurant.

He sustained critical bullet wounds on his head and was transported to the JPMC where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, said Dr Seemin Jamali, executive director of the hospital.

Mr Ali said the victim had allegedly committed a murder in his native place, Pishin, Balochistan, and remained incarcerated for some years before being released on bail a few months ago.

The police suspected that he might have been killed in “revenge”.

A murder case has been registered against two brothers, identified as Saddam and Mohammed Younis, also hailing from Pishin, on a complaint of the deceased’s brother, added the SHO.

Taimuria SHO Agha Amir said Zakir Khan, 36, was passing through the Sakhi Hasan area while riding a motorbike when unknown suspects attacked and killed him.
