Sindh Olympic Village to be constructed in Karachi: Salim Rajput

KARACHI: A state-of-the-art Sindh Olympic Village would be established in Karachi, the vice-president of the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) Mohammad Salim Rajput announced here on Monday.

Salim said that the Village would have all facilities of international standard for all the Olympic games. He was of the view that it was our goal that Sindh province be able to host Asian Games, SAF and South Asian Games for the country in the future.

He said that the construction work in this regard would start soon.

The announcement was made by Rajput who was accompanied by vice-chairman of SOA, Asif Azeem, and secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput during a meeting with renowned architect Syed Manzoor Medhi Naqvi under whose supervision a master plan for the project will be implemented. The Sindh Olympic Village will offer indoor, outdoor stadiums and gymnasiums, swimming pool, hostels, administration blocks as well as medical facilities.

After the completion of work pertaining to the master plan, the SOA delegation will meet Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to submit recommendations about the Sindh Olympic Village.
