Five more bodies reach Gujrat

GUJRAT/SIALKOT: The bodies of five youth who were reportedly shot dead in Turbat area of Balochistan on Saturday were driven to their native villages in Gujrat on Sunday afternoon.

Gujrat Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza and Superintendent of police Maaz Zafar received the bodies that were brought to the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH) by Rescue 1122 ambulances from the Lahore Airport.

The bodies were handed over heirs after completion of necessary formalities.

Muhammad Daanish, Muhammad Saqib and Qasim of Khori Rasoolpur, Muhammad Usman Qadeer of nearby village Malikpur and Badar Muneer of Kassoki were found dead in Turbat on their way to Pakistan-Iran border from where they had to reach Turkey and Greece. Each of them had paid a sum of Rs 160,000 to a human trafficker of Rasoolpur village.

The boys were said to be close friends who belonged to poor families. Daanish and Usman Qadeer were lone male siblings of their families.

They were buried in graveyards of their native villages in the evening after a large number of people attended the funeral prayers.

Meanwhile, Haider Ali (16), the only survivor of the Turbat carnage, will return to his home in Jethikey village in Sambrial.

Meanwhile, FIA has arrested alleged human trafficker Talib alias Muhammad Sadiq from Qilla Saifullah.

FIA’s Divisional Deputy Director Khalid Anees said the authority had already arrested main accused Waheed Khan.

He said Waheed Khan had handed over some people, including Zulfiqar Ali, to a Quetta-based human trafficker Talib for sending them to Turkey via Iran.
