CJ takes suo motu notice of Balochistan killings

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, has taken suo motu notice of the killing of 20 people in Balochistan whose bullet-riddled bodies were found in Turbat and Buleda areas a few days ago.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the Supreme Court noted that the victims had been brought to the province by human traffickers with the intention of making them cross the Pakistan-Iran border illegally.

Taking action on media reports about the matter, Justice Nisar ordered the Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, and Director General of Federal Invest­igation Agency (FIA) to submit a report to the Supreme Court within three days, especially with regards to the steps being taken by security forces in the province to curb such incidents in future.
